• Kalisher took his camera and his tape recorder down to the railroad yards. He came back with a stunning series of photographs, 24 yarns about railroading told in the vernacular, and an experience of the reality of the life of railroad men which destroyed some of his illusions.

• Each year since 1975 Nixon has made a group portrait of his wife and her three sisters facing his 8x10-inch view camera in the same order. In 1975 the women ranged in age from 15 to 25. In 1999, on the 25th anniversary of the series, MoMA published The Brown Sisters, presenting all of the portraits in sequence. The second edition brings the series up to date with the addition of eight new photographs. Signed copies of books by Nixon are uncommon.
